Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands

Welcome to Singapore! Marina Bay Sands looks like a ship balanced across three skyscrapers — and that rooftop really does have a swimming pool.

Why is it famous?

Its rooftop 'SkyPark' looks like a giant surfboard resting across the top of three towers, holding the world's largest rooftop infinity pool.

It has become one of the most photographed skylines in the world, sitting right on Marina Bay next to the Gardens by the Bay.

How was it built?

Three 57-story towers were built to lean slightly, so engineers designed a special SkyPark strong enough to link all three together at the top.

Construction moved at an incredible pace, finishing roughly one new floor every four days.

Amazing facts

The rooftop infinity pool stretches 501 feet (153 meters) long — nearly three Olympic swimming pools end to end.

The SkyPark sits 650 feet (200 meters) above the ground, taller than a 55-story building.
