It was once one of the largest cities in the ancient world, home to over 100,000 people.
Its massive Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon still tower over the valley today.
How was it built?
Ancient builders stacked millions of sun-dried mudbricks and stone, without metal tools or wheels.
The whole city was carefully planned around a wide central road called the Avenue of the Dead.

Nobody knows for certain what the city's original builders called themselves.
